GV Cafe Kyabram sits quietly on Union Street, blending the laid-back charm of a local cafe with the satisfying heartiness of a fish and chips spot. This is the kind of place where locals and visitors alike pause to enjoy a reliably good meal without fuss or pretense, making it a steady stop for anyone passing through Kyabram or calling it home.

The setting carries a casual, unhurried vibe that suits morning catch-ups over coffee or a simple dinner after a day of errands. It’s clear from the way families arrive here that GV Cafe has settled into the community rhythm—not just as a coffee stop but as a family-friendly eatery where familiar faces exchange nods and smiles. The staff reinforces this comfort with their approachable, friendly service, making it easy to linger a little longer or grab a takeout order with minimal wait.

While the cafe side offers the usual coffee shop atmosphere—likely a pleasant go-to for breakfast or a relaxed afternoon break—the fish and chips takeaway stands out as a strong draw. The chips come consistently cooked with a satisfying crispness, and the seafood tends to please a range of tastes, from the scallops to well-stacked hamburgers with all the trimmings. Portions feel generous without being overwhelming, and pricing leans reasonable, which helps explain why regulars keep coming back, often with family in tow.

GV Cafe’s phone ordering system suits those looking to grab a quick meal without lingering, hinting at how the place fits busy schedules in the region. What’s missing for some is a local delivery option, but the counter service’s efficiency helps fill that gap.

The best time to visit might be early evening or weekends when families tend to gather, giving the place a warm, communal feel. Visitors arriving from nearby towns often mention the ease of being welcomed like regulars, a reminder of how established the cafe is within Kyabram’s local fabric.

In short, GV Cafe Kyabram works well for casual dining, especially if you’re after fish and chips served with a smile. It’s where community meets convenience, and the familiar tastes ensure it fits comfortably into everyday local life.

My family adores this cafe. Best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. The hamburgers with the lot always get ordered and we cannot leave without ordering a few scallops with our fish and chips. By the way, they cook the chips to perfection and staff are always friendly with great service. They offer phone orders as well but I would love to see them off delivery within Kyabram, someday soon.

Awesome fish and chips and the best potato cakes you’ll find anywhere. If you want service with a smile GV Cafe is the place to go. You can’t beat them. Highly recommended

A great little cafe with fish and chips… loved it. Reasonably priced. I travelled from Echuca for a dinner in Kyabram… lovely staff… He gave me a 2$ discount on chips…
